If you don’t think a tented wedding can be glamorous, Megan and Mathew’s wedding is about to blow your mind. The creative geniuses at Sweetgrass Social dreamt up a stunning tented wedding in Bluffton, South Carolina featuring a moody black and white motif, glittering crystal chandeliers, and a transparent greenhouse that allowed the sunset and palm trees to serve as the ultimate backdrop.
The furniture selections for Megan and Mathew’s wedding were absolutely crucial to transforming Moreland Green — a wide open space on the Montage Palmetto Bluff property — into the sophisticated wedding venue our couple was envisioning.
On the lawn, guests could float between individual cocktail tables and perfectly-composed lounge areas. The Carlton Couch, Xander Side Tables, and Armand Black Nesting Coffee Tables were the ideal spot for the couple’s guests to perch with a signature cocktail.
Also on the lawn, guests were treated to a luxurious and unique favor — customized ten-gallon hats. The Elena Gold Shelves put the hats on display, leaving the bar in front as a workspace for the artisans to burn custom monograms into each one.
When it was time to enter the tent for dinner and dancing, guests found their escort card at a unique display themed like a boutique hotel check-in. We customized the Prado Museum Walls, painting them black before adding the Museo Lights, a calligraphy decal, and hooks to hang the escort cards, which looked like hotel keys.
Under the tent, the Mia Bar and Mia Display were a popular spot for guests to gather and revel in the subtle art deco references of the aesthetic before taking their drink back to their table. The Jacqueline Black chairs were a statement at each Veronica Dining Table. Combined with chic white floral arrangements and set underneath crystal chandeliers, the dining areas looked distinctly opulent yet understated, like something out of The Great Gatsby.
Before the night was through, every guest made their way onto the custom black-and-white checkerboard dance floor, which abutted a stage customized with the Lucy Walls as backdrop and the Clement Black Stage Fronts to streamline their classy look.
Combined, our carefully curated rentals transformed Megan and Mathew’s blank canvas of a tropical South Carolina venue into an art deco paradise.
